Series circuit Vs Parallel circuit

There are different types of circuit

1. Series circuit- where all the circuit elements are connected in series
2. Parallel circuit-where all the circuit elements are connected in parallel
3. Series-Parallel circuit-combination of elements in both series and parallel.

Series circuit

All the resistances are connected in series.

A single path for the current to flow hence current remains the same.

The voltage across each resistor depends on the value of resistor.

As resistance increases, volt drop also increases.

Parallel circuit

All the resistances are connected in parallel

The voltage across each resistor is same.

The current through each resistor depends on the value of resistor.

As resistance increases, the current decreases.
